Canadian mineral exploration company Miata Metals has secured an option agreement to acquire the Nassau gold project in Suriname, increasing its ownership from 70% to 100%. The property hosts multiple gold zones and high-priority exploration targets, strategically positioning Miata in the gold-rich greenstone belt near major mines.
Miata will pay $1.35m and commit $2m over three years for the acquisition, with a net smelter royalty granted to the optionor. The company plans to advance exploration at Nassau, furthering its strategic control over the Suriname gold portfolio.
This agreement follows Miata’s previous acquisition of 79North, including interests in the Sela Creek Gold Project. The move strengthens Miata’s position in the highly prospective gold belt of Suriname, aligning with the company’s long-term growth strategy.
