JPMorgan Chase appoints Marianne Lake to oversee overseas consumer banking and strategic growth, potentially positioning her as CEO successor to Jamie Dimon, according to an internal memo. Sanoke Viswanathan resigns as CEO of international consumer and wealth unit, set to join FactSet as CEO in September.
Lake, currently CEO of JPMorgan’s domestic consumer banking arm serving 84 million U.S. consumers, will now oversee international consumer banking business expanding in the UK and beyond, state Dimon and Pinto in the memo. Viswanathan, a JPMorgan veteran, was responsible for international private banking and workplace solutions.
Dimon, 69, hints at retirement in “several years,” considering staying on as chairman for a couple more years. Bloomberg News first reported the news.
