The Walt Disney Co. is cutting several hundred jobs worldwide to adapt to industry changes. Layoffs will impact divisions like television and film marketing. No entire teams will be eliminated.

Disney posted solid profits and revenue last month. The company also saw success with box office hits like “Thunderbolts” and “Lilo & Stitch,” which has made $280.1 million domestically.

In 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced plans to cut about 7,000 jobs in a cost-saving effort. This is part of a targeted $5.5 billion savings plan for the company. Shares of Disney rose slightly in midday trading.
