June 5, 2025 10:00 AM:
Financial infrastructure company Zebec Network acquires compliance platform Gatenox to enhance regulatory infrastructure and expand into tightly regulated markets. The deal brings KYC, KYB, and AML tools into Zebec’s Web3 payment stack. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but it was an all-cash transaction.
Zebec plans to pursue MiCA and FCA compliance using Gatenox’s technology. Gatenox is not currently registered with any financial authorities, but its founders have experience in regulated financial institutions. Zebec had previously acquired Science Card to empower students and researchers with financial tools.
The Gatenox acquisition allows Zebec to phase out third-party compliance providers and utilize Gatenox’s proprietary technology. Zebec has received $35 million in investments from companies like Circle, Coinbase, and Solana Ventures. Its native token is actively traded on exchanges such as KuCoin and Bybit.
