DB InfraGO has awarded Implenia a €200m contract to build a key section of the Nordmainische S-Bahn in Frankfurt. The project involves constructing an underground line and two tunnel tubes using tunnel boring machines. Construction is set to begin in 2026 and finish by 2031.

Implenia will undertake specialised foundation services for the project in Frankfurt to ensure sustainable construction in the densely populated urban area. The Nordmainische S-Bahn project aims to enhance local transport connectivity in the Rhine-Main region and is considered one of the most important rail expansion projects in the Frankfurt hub.

In addition to the Frankfurt project, Implenia recently secured a $146.8m contract for the East Link railway project in Sweden. The Bibana Nykoping section will link Nykoping and Skavsta town centres to the East Link’s mainline, contributing to improved transport infrastructure in the region.
