Rio Tinto has opened its new iron ore mine, Western Range, with a capacity to produce up to 25 million tonnes of iron ore annually. The $2 billion project, a joint venture with China Baowu Group, includes a primary crusher and 18-kilometre conveyor system. The mine will support Paraburdoo’s 880 employees for up to 20 years.
