Five Below CEO credits ‘maniacal focus’ on CX for a strong quarter

Five Below’s CEO, Winnie Park, credits the retailer’s strong financial results to a “maniacal focus on delivering a great customer experience.” The company is investing in more labor hours for store associates, resulting in better-stocked shelves and improved customer service. Comparable sales rose 7.1% year over year in Q1 2025, with net sales up 19.5% to $970.5 million.

To drive experience improvements, Five Below brought teams together from across the business. The retailer shifted its strategic focus on customer service in the second half of 2024, leading to positive results. Changes in procedures for associates, inventory adjustments, and marketing efforts have all contributed to a more customer-centric approach and improved performance.
