U.S. stock index futures were quiet on Monday ahead of talks between the U.S. and China to address their ongoing trade disputes. President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping recently spoke by phone but left key issues unresolved. The S&P 500 closed above 6,000 last week, boosted by strong jobs data and Tesla’s rebound. Citigroup raised its year-end S&P 500 target to 6,300, citing optimism in corporate earnings and AI-driven growth. Investors are watching for inflation signs amid Trump’s tariffs.
