Antonio Filosa, Stellantis’ new CEO, will earn $4 million annually for his first two years, rising to $23 million annually from 2028, including bonuses. He officially becomes CEO at the end of this month, tasked with improving the carmaker’s performance and U.S. market share. Filosa’s pay will be lower than predecessor Carlos Tavares.

Filosa will receive an annual base pay of $1.8 million, just below Tavares’ $2.3 million. He will also get annual bonuses worth up to 400% of his base pay based on company objectives. Additionally, he will be granted shares as long-term incentives, starting from up to 500% of his salary this year.

Before potential LTIs are paid, the company will provide Filosa a $1.2 million cash award each year. Tavares, who resigned last December, received a $39.9 million compensation package despite sales and profit declines. In 2023, Tavares earned about $42 million when Stellantis reported record results.

Filosa will benefit from the company’s U.S. health care and retirement plans, tax equalization benefits, and other fringe benefits like personal use of company aircraft and vehicles. His term will be for five years to ensure leadership stability and effective response to industry changes. Tavares was also appointed CEO for five years but left after just under four years.
