Howden has acquired Innova Re, a reinsurance broker in Lima, Peru, to expand its presence in the country. The purchase complements Howden’s existing retail operations, with Innova Re specializing in commercial lines like property and aviation insurance. The move is part of Howden Peru’s growth plan to offer integrated services throughout Latin America.

Innova Re’s founder and CEO, Juan Diego Cadarso, expressed excitement about joining Howden, highlighting the shared values and client-first mindset. The acquisition allows access to a global network, data analytics, and specialist expertise to better serve clients. Howden aims to create a full spectrum offering for insurance, treaty, and facultative clients in Peru.

Howden CEO Sonia Caamaño emphasized the alignment of cultures between Howden and Innova Re. The combined expertise of both companies positions Howden well to serve clients in Peru with a comprehensive range of insurance services. The appointment of Juan Diego as CEO of Howden Re Peru strengthens the team’s capabilities.

This acquisition follows Howden’s recent expansion efforts, including the appointment of April McLaughlin as managing director of Howden Miami to enhance reinsurance services in the region. Earlier this year, Howden acquired Barnett Waddingham, a UK-based consultancy offering insurance, risk management, pensions, and investment services.
