Ericsson and Super Micro Computer announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate Edge AI deployment. They will combine Ericsson’s 5G wireless technology with Supermicro’s edge AI platforms to simplify AI application deployment at the network edge, benefiting industries like retail, factories, and healthcare.
Super Micro stock has declined over 45% in the last 12 months, reporting third-quarter net revenue of $4.6 billion, below analyst estimates. Needham analyst Quinn Bolton attributed the miss to delayed commitments due to customers evaluating next-gen AI platforms. Adjusted gross margin came in at 9.7%, below the Street’s estimate.
Ericsson, up over 38% in the last 12 months, is expected to handle global tariff storms better than analysts expect. Bloomberg’s Matthew Bloxham predicts cost-cutting tailwinds, preemptive U.S. inventory restocking, and limited exposure to China-sourced components will benefit the company.
Super Micro stock is trading lower by 0.39% premarket, while Ericsson stock is up 0.24%. The collaboration between Ericsson and Super Micro aims to bring 5G-powered AI to industries like factories, retail, and hospitals, offering advanced connectivity and infrastructure for AI applications at the network edge.
