Apple unveiled major software ecosystem revamp at WWDC with new design language "Liquid Glass", causing 1.2% drop in shares

Apple Inc. unveiled a major software ecosystem revamp at WWDC, featuring a new design language called “Liquid Glass.” However, lack of AI updates led to a 1.2% drop in Apple shares. ETFs like VGT, IXN, FTEC, IYW, and XLK with significant Apple allocations are now in focus.
Apple introduced new features under Apple Intelligence, including live translation, Genmoji, and Image Playground. While these updates fall short of competitors’ full-stack AI platforms, they aim to enhance user experience. At the event, software overhauls like iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe were also showcased.
VGT, with $87.9 billion in AUM, VGT tracks 307 tech stocks with Apple as the top holding at 17.1%. IXN, with $5.1 billion in AUM, follows the S&P Global 1200 Information Tech Index with Apple as the 2nd holding at 15.8%. FTEC, with $13.1 billion in AUM, tracks 293 tech stocks with Apple at 14.7%. IYW and XLK also offer exposure to Apple with strong AUM and rankings.
