Natalie Fleet, MP for Bolsover, visited SRS Rail System as part of the Railway Industry Association’s Rail Fellowship Programme. Fleet toured the depot, learned about RRV technology, and discussed challenges facing the plant supply chain. SRS Rail System is a specialist rail plant provider, offering RRVs and other services to support UK rail infrastructure.

During her visit, Fleet praised the innovation and expertise at SRS Rail System, emphasizing the importance of efficient and reliable rail technology for transport and local growth. She also met with the SRS team and test drove an RRV. Discussions covered challenges in the plant supply chain and work volumes.

SRS Rail System provides a large hire fleet of RRVs to Network Rail and Tier 1 suppliers. The company also manufactures RRVs, offers OLE linesmen services, operates as a POS provider, and is an NSAR approved training provider. The aim of the visit was to showcase SRS’s capabilities and highlight industry challenges.

In March, Network Rail started using drones to monitor 20,000 miles of track, partnering with Drone Major for trials in the UK. The use of drones aims to enhance monitoring and maintenance of railway lines. The visit by Natalie Fleet to SRS Rail System was covered by Railway Technology, focusing on the MP’s exploration of rail technology.
