Cryptocurrency firm Bullish confidentially files for US IPO, FT reports

Peter Thiel-backed crypto exchange Bullish has confidentially filed for an IPO with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Bullish, a unit of Block.one, previously attempted to go public through a SPAC deal in 2021 but faced challenges amid regulatory crackdowns and market turbulence.

The Trump administration has shown a more favorable stance on crypto regulation compared to the Biden administration, supporting the industry’s policy priorities. Bullish aims to take advantage of renewed investor interest in digital assets under the current administration.

Gemini, a crypto exchange led by the Winklevoss twins, recently disclosed its confidential filing for a U.S. IPO. Bullish’s reported IPO filing follows Gemini’s move, indicating a trend of crypto exchanges seeking to go public in the U.S. market.
