Celldex's drug showed significant improvement in angioedema symptoms in Phase 2 trial

Celldex Therapeutics announced that 77% of patients with angioedema at baseline were angioedema free after 52 weeks of treatment with barzolvolimab in a Phase 2 clinical trial for chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU). The drug showed significant improvement in angioedema symptoms, which commonly affect the face, hands, feet, and genitalia. The data were presented at the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Congress. Patients experienced rapid, robust, and durable improvements in angioedema, with up to 87% showing clinically meaningful improvement at Week 52. Further Phase 3 trials are underway to establish the efficacy and safety of barzolvolimab in treating CSU.
