Anne Wojcicki is set to regain control of 23andMe after a $305 million bid from a nonprofit she controls outbid Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in a bankruptcy auction. The deal is expected to close in the coming weeks pending a court hearing on June 17. 23andMe filed for bankruptcy in March due to declining demand and a data breach in 2023. TTAM Research Institute, the nonprofit, stated it will maintain 23andMe’s privacy policies. New York and other states have sued 23andMe over the sale of customer information. Regeneron was willing to make a new bid with a $10 million breakup fee if Wojcicki’s bid wins.
