Shopify has partnered with Coinbase and Stripe to offer stablecoin payment options to its merchants worldwide. This new feature allows merchants on the Base network to accept payments in USD Coin (USDC) without the need for additional integrations. Customers can pay with USDC using supported cryptocurrency wallets, guest checkout, or Shop Pay. Merchants can choose to receive settlements in their local currency or claim USDC directly into their crypto wallets. The stable value of USDC, pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar, ensures consistent value for merchants. Shopify also expanded its partnership with Affirm for international expansion.
