Ninety One to acquire Sanlam Investments UK's asset management business, forming stronger partnership.

Ninety One is finalizing the transfer of Sanlam Investments UK’s active asset management business to Ninety One UK, becoming the primary active asset manager for some of Sanlam Investments UK’s assets. The agreement solidifies a 15-year relationship and includes Sanlam receiving a 12.3% equity stake in Ninety One.
Sanlam will have an approximately 8.9% shareholding in Ninety One after the transfer, excluding ARC Financial Services Investments. Additionally, Sanlam will become an anchor investor in Ninety One’s international private and specialist credit strategies, aiming to benefit from Ninety One’s global footprint and distribution network.
Ninety One’s founder and CEO, Hendrik du Toit, expressed excitement about the partnership with Sanlam, highlighting their complementary experience and expertise. Last week, India’s Shriram Group launched a wealth management venture in collaboration with Sanlam Group, aiming to serve affluent and high-net-worth individuals with a target of Rs500bn ($5.84bn) in assets under advice.
