Nielsen Holdings PLC: Sensex, Nifty May See Modest Gains At Open

From Nielsen Holdings PLC:

Indian shares may open with modest gains on Friday as new economic data from the U.S. has fueled hopes that the U.S. central bank will cut interest rates soon. The Sensex and Nifty rose around half a percent each on Thursday after a sharp fall the day before. Asian markets traded mixed, gold held near three-week highs, and oil is set for another weekly gain due to nervousness about the security of Red Sea shipping. U.S. stocks rose notably overnight following a wave of data showing lower-than-expected GDP growth in the third quarter, downward revisions to inflation, historically low jobless claims and weakening regional business activity. European stocks closed lower after two days of gains, with the pan European STOXX 600 easing 0.2 percent, the German DAX and the U.K.’s FTSE 100 both dipping around 0.3 percent, and France’s CAC 40 slipping 0.2 percent.
