Prenetics Global Limited completed a $20 million Bitcoin purchase of 187.42 BTC at an average price of $106,712 via a Kraken custody account. The move strengthens Prenetics’ pro-forma cash to approximately $66 million and aims to become one of the largest healthcare corporate Bitcoin holders globally.

The company’s long-term Bitcoin strategy includes allocating most of the balance sheet to Bitcoin, implementing alpha-generating strategies, and discussions for expanded Bitcoin acquisition with financial institutions. Prenetics plans to accept cryptocurrency payments on its platforms and views Bitcoin as a fundamental transformation of corporate treasury management.

Andy Cheung, former COO of OKEx, has been appointed to Prenetics’ Board of Directors. The company aims to implement sophisticated alpha-generating strategies to maximize returns on its Bitcoin holdings. PRE stock closed higher by 7.13% at $7.51 on Tuesday.
