In early trading, JPMorgan Chase leads Dow Jones Industrial Average components with a 1.2% gain, totaling a 13.8% increase year to date. On the flip side, Merck is the worst performer, down 0.5% for the day and 21.7% for the year.

Microsoft is down 0.3% while Goldman Sachs Group is up 0.8% on the day.
