Zero Interest Rates Are Back as SNB Cuts Again

Switzerland’s central bank returned to zero interest rates to combat deflation, following global volatility caused by US trade wars. In May, Swiss consumer prices fell 0.1% year-over-year, prompting a more dovish policy direction. The strong Swiss franc can erode returns for investors and hurt Swiss company margins. The next SNB rate decisions are on Sept. 25 and Dec. 11, 2025.
