Seneca Foods' Q4 earnings drop despite sales gain, full-year net sales increase, but earnings decline

Shares of Seneca Foods Corporation (SENEA) have dropped 3.4% since reporting earnings for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, compared to the S&P 500’s 0.7% decline. Net sales for the quarter were $345.8 million, up 12.3% from the previous year, but net earnings were only $0.6 million. Full-year net sales increased to $1.58 billion, but net earnings declined by 34.9%. Adjusted net earnings for the year were down 16.3%. The vegetable division continued to dominate, with canned vegetables accounting for 83.2% of total net sales. Seneca did not provide formal guidance for fiscal 2026 but highlighted cost management efforts.
