EHang Holdings Limited announced a strategic cooperation agreement with Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Changchun, Jilin Province. The agreement includes an order for 41 units of EHang’s EH216-S pilotless eVTOLs for low-altitude sightseeing, emergency response, and traffic management in the region. Changchun aims to become a leader in low-altitude economic development by 2026, with a target of RMB3 billion in the low-altitude economy. EHang and Jingyue Hi-tech Zone will collaborate to accelerate the deployment of pilotless eVTOLs in Jilin Province and create a low-altitude-driven model of urban development.

Jingyue Hi-tech Zone, a pilot region in China for low-altitude airspace management reform, has established a comprehensive aerial digital infrastructure in Northeast China. This infrastructure will support the development of a provincial-scale low-altitude command and dispatch platform for efficient management and safe operations of low-altitude aircraft. EHang will contribute to the planning, design, and construction of a Low-altitude Intelligent Connected Cold-region Testing Site, focusing on cold-weather testing and airworthiness standards for eVTOL aircraft in cold climates. Additionally, EHang plans to partner with Jingyue Hi-tech Zone to advance R&D and production of composite materials for low-altitude aircraft.

The strategic collaboration between EHang and Jingyue Hi-tech Zone aims to establish a benchmark for low-altitude economic development and drive high-quality regional growth. By leveraging Jingyue’s advantages, including its natural environment, policy incentives, and digital infrastructure, the partnership will focus on optimizing the performance, adaptability, and safety of eVTOL aircraft in cold environments. The goal is to promote the widespread adoption of eVTOL technology for safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly low-altitude economic solutions.
