Norway would not be the first country to consider banning cryptocurrency mining. Russia and China have already implemented bans in certain regions to address energy consumption and blackouts. Despite concerns over energy use, the US remains a significant contributor to the global Bitcoin hashrate. Many mining operations have moved to US states like Texas, where mining is still legal.
