Prada’s CEO, Gianfranco D’Attis, is leaving the brand due to disagreements over strategy. The departure was confirmed by Prada, effective June 30th, with Andrea Guerra stepping in as interim CEO. D’Attis aimed to expand Prada’s reach in the U.S. and China and attract new, younger consumers.
D’Attis, previously with Christian Dior and Jaeger-LeCoultre, brought retail expertise to Prada. He focused on integrating new categories like home and jewelry, attracting younger consumers, and restructuring retail. Prada Group saw a 13% sales increase in Q1, driven mainly by Miu Miu sales.
Prada brand’s retail sales remained flat, while Miu Miu revenues surged 60% to 377 million euros. Prada Group recently acquired Versace for 1.25 billion euros from Capri Holdings. The brand’s focus on expanding in key markets led to sales growth and strategic acquisitions for further growth and influence.
