Toyota raises prices on U.S. vehicles, along with other automakers, partly influenced by tariffs

Toyota has announced a price increase for several vehicles in the U.S., with Toyota and Lexus models going up by an average of $270 and $208, respectively. Despite a 3.7% increase in sales last year, Toyota still imports nearly half a million vehicles due to limited U.S. production capacity. The move is not explicitly linked to tariffs but is part of a regular pricing review process.

Other Japanese automakers like Mazda and Mitsubishi have taken similar actions, with some holding vehicles in port to avoid duties and others implementing price increases. Ford, which manufactures some vehicles in Mexico, has also raised prices by up to $2,000 due to tariffs. Companies emphasize that these moves are part of regular pricing adjustments, not direct reactions to tariffs.
