Toyota partners with VDL Groep to introduce fuel cell trucks for sustainable logistics

Toyota Motor Europe has partnered with VDL Groep to introduce fuel cell trucks for sustainable logistics, aiming for zero tailpipe emissions. Four trucks are now operational in Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands, serving key routes for Toyota Parts Centre Europe. These trucks offer comparable performance to diesel vehicles, with a 400km range on a single refuel. Toyota plans to reach carbon neutrality in logistics by 2040, contributing to the hydrogen economy and complying with the EU’s Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation. Additionally, FAW Toyota launched the bZ5 battery-powered SUV in China to expand its presence in the new energy vehicle market.
