He previously worked at HSBC and Morgan Stanley, bringing valuable experience to the role.
CEO Paul Burgess welcomed Garman, emphasizing the importance of regulatory focus in motor finance. Garman highlighted the increasing data-led oversight from the Financial Conduct Authority and the complex consumer credit regulation landscape. His goal is to drive transparency, improve data quality, governance, and ensure compliance with all relevant requirements to minimize disruption.
A recent survey by Startline revealed that over 70% of UK motorists are open to buying vehicles from emerging Chinese car manufacturers. BYD emerged as the most recognized brand among potential buyers, followed by Maxus and Chery. Other brands like Aiways, Denza, and Jaecoo also garnered interest, showing a growing market for Chinese cars in the UK.
