Goldman Sachs has launched the GS AI Assistant, an AI program that allows workers to converse with large language models firewalled within the company. Over 10,000 employees have tested the tool, which will be used for tasks like coding and document summarization for efficiency gains. While there are no current plans to replace jobs, the long-term impact is uncertain. Chief Information Officer Marco Argenti stated that generative AI is already improving productivity. Other Wall Street banks, like Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan, are also increasing their use of AI tools to enhance efficiency. This story was first reported on Fortune.com.
