Gemini, the crypto exchange by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, now offers tokenized stocks in the EU. The rollout began with shares of Strategy (MSTR), the largest corporate bitcoin holder. More stocks and ETFs will be added soon, as Gemini partners with Dinari, a firm focusing on tokenizing real-world assets.
Dinari obtained a broker-dealer registration from FINRA, enabling the firm to offer tokenized U.S. stocks. This move reflects the increasing demand for traditional financial instruments to be brought onto blockchain platforms through the tokenization of real-world assets. Other crypto exchanges like Coinbase and Kraken are also exploring tokenized securities trading, while Robinhood is reportedly working on offering tokenized U.S. stocks for EU users.
Last month, Gemini secured a MiFID II license from Malta, allowing the exchange to offer derivative products across the entire European Economic Area.
