Maersk has launched the Maersk Trade & Tariff Studio, a digital platform to assist global cargo owners in navigating the unpredictable trade landscape. The AI-driven solution addresses challenges like rising tariffs and customs disruptions, with a global rollout planned for August after testing with major clients. The platform integrates with Maersk’s logistics services and can operate independently for cargo owners. Maersk’s data shows that 5-6% of tariffs are overpaid due to lack of centralised data. The platform includes AI-powered tariff engineering, compliance risk screening, and real-time updates through Maersk’s network of customs experts.

Additionally, the Maersk Trade & Tariff Studio aids companies in complying with complex regulations such as product safety and environmental mandates. Maersk Trade and Customs Consulting global head Lars Karlsson stated that the platform brings clarity, compliance, agility, and cost optimization to global supply chains. Maersk also introduced a new class of 17,480TEU vessels with dual-fuel methanol propulsion to improve services linking Eastern Asia with Northern Europe.
