NASA’s live programming, including rocket launches and spacewalks, will stream on Netflix this summer to reach a global audience. The content will remain free and ad-free on the NASA app and website. NASA+ launched in 2023 to provide easier access to space content, following the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 mandate to share space exploration stories widely.
SpaceX leads commercial rocket launches with 81 in the first half of 2025 and remains the only U.S. company certified to bring astronauts to the ISS. NASA supports missions in low-Earth orbit as the ISS nears retirement to continue research and benefits for humanity. Financial details of the NASA-Netflix deal were not disclosed.
Netflix, with over 700 million users, has seen its shares reach all-time highs, up nearly 51% since the start of the year. This partnership with NASA highlights the growing interest in space exploration and the increasing commercialization of space activities.
