Alstom wins $2.3 billion contract to supply rail cars to MTA
French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom SA has secured a $2.3 billion order from the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority for M-9A rail cars to serve the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad. The contract will be booked in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026. Alstom also recently received a 720 million euro order from Bulgaria for 35 electric Coradia Stream interregional trains, including 15 years of maintenance. Alstom’s share of the contract is 600 million euros. Further details about the MTA order will be shared soon.
