ChatGPT surpasses TikTok as most downloaded app

According to Appfigures, ChatGPT saw 29.6 million downloads on iOS over the past month, making it the most downloaded app in that period—outpacing TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X combined.

The rise in downloads suggests growing interest in AI tools for everyday tasks like writing, learning, and productivity. Some reports estimate ChatGPT now has around 600 million monthly active users.

While Google’s Gemini leads Android downloads, ChatGPT appears to have the edge on Apple devices. In the U.S., a recent survey showed that 34% of adults have used ChatGPT, up significantly from the year before.
