Fortune Magazine: Will it be a White Christmas? National Weather Service says only in Alaska
From Fortune Magazine:
For many Americans, the hopes of having a white Christmas are unlikely to come true this year. As of now, much of the U.S. lacks the expected snow coverage associated with late December and celebrations of the holiday season. As December continues, the prospects of a white Christmas are slim, due to the vulnerabilities associated with climate change– extreme cold snaps and weather anomalies occur, but much of the globe has seen an increase in warmth, making December no longer seem like a winter month. Reports have indicated that Alaska might be the best shot for a white Christmas. While some areas have seen snow, there isn’t much optimism for the white holiday that most people envision. Despite these setbacks, Northeastern snow lovers have not given up hope. The weather outlook may improve just after the Christmas holiday, bringing a more favorable climate for snow in the near future. Though northeastern snow lovers hope for the best, it is unlikely that their wish for a white Christmas will come true.
