Singapore stock market falls due to global negative trends and disappointing earnings, Dow and NASDAQ drop.
The Singapore stock market fell again, with the Straits Times Index just above 3,460 points. Global markets are negative due to disappointing earnings. STI ended slightly lower on Wednesday, financials and trusts down but properties and industrials mixed. The Dow dropped 504.22 points, NASDAQ down 654.94 points, S&P 500 tumbled 128.61 points due to disappointing corporate earnings. U.S. new home sales decreased in June. Oil prices rose after unexpected drop in U.S. crude oil inventories. West Texas Intermediate Crude oil futures ended at $77.59 a barrel.
