The Australia stock market closed slightly lower, with the S&P/ASX 200 down 0.03%. The best performers of the session were Austal Ltd, Pointsbet Holdings Ltd, and Pilbara Minerals Ltd, while the worst performers were Omni Bridgeway Ltd, Abacus Property Group, and St Barbara Ltd. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones, with 16 stocks rising, 9 declining, and 31 unchanged. Omni Bridgeway Ltd fell to a 5-year low. The implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options was down 2.74%. In commodities trading, gold futures rose, while crude oil for delivery in February and March fell. The AUD/USD was unchanged, while the AUD/JPY fell. The US Dollar Index Futures also fell.
