British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe has agreed to purchase 25 percent of Manchester United’s Class B shares from the Glazer family and up to 25 percent of Class A shares. The deal will see Ratcliffe’s Ineos Group taking control of the football operations and providing $300 million for future investment into the club’s Old Trafford stadium. The Glazer family and Class A shareholders will receive $33.00 per share for their holdings. This move comes after Manchester United announced in November 2022 that it was exploring strategic alternatives for the club, including new investment, a sale, or other transactions.
