Hims & Hers Enters Canadian Semaglutide Market as Novo Nordisk Patent Expires

Hims & Hers Health will offer generic semaglutide in Canada as Novo Nordisk’s patent on Ozempic and Wegovy is set to expire. The Canadian semaglutide market is expected to reach $4.03 billion by 2035. Hims joins drugmakers capitalizing on the lapsed patent. Novo Nordisk ended its collaboration with Hims & Hers due to concerns about promotion of cheaper knockoffs.
