Indonesia Advances AI Goals with NVIDIA and Cisco

Indonesia is working towards its “Golden 2045 Vision” by leveraging digital technologies to boost productivity and innovation. Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison partners with Cisco and NVIDIA to establish Indonesia’s AI Center of Excellence, supported by the Ministry of Communications. The CoE offers research support, training, and benefits for startups to drive economic growth through AI innovation.

The Indonesia AI CoE will feature an AI factory with NVIDIA AI infrastructure and a security system powered by Cisco. This Sovereign Security Operations Center Cloud Platform combines AI-based threat detection and managed security services. The CoE aims to enhance Indonesia’s AI strategy through four core pillars and already has 28 software vendors and startups using NVIDIA-powered AI infrastructure.

Indosat’s coverage allows for the development of AI applications to reach millions of Bahasa Indonesian speakers. For example, Sahabat-AI is used to develop an AI agent system for preventative healthcare outreach, including scheduling mammograms. Indosat’s AI chatbot also answers queries for citizen and resident services in the Indonesian language, while a government-led forum is developing trustworthy AI frameworks tailored to Indonesian values.

In the future, Indosat and NVIDIA plan to deploy AI-RAN technologies for broader wireless network audiences. This collaboration aims to democratize AI and drive sustainable economic growth through innovation and skills development in Indonesia.
