Manchester United’s stock rose by 2.4% after British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe acquired a 25% minority stake in the club.

The stock gain outpaced the S&P 500 index’s gain of 0.4%.

The agreement for Ratcliffe’s acquisition of the stake was announced by Manchester United on December 24th.
