The Singapore stock market ended its three-day winning streak, dipping 0.01 percent to finish at 3,139.98 as of Tuesday. Technology shares and optimism over the outlook for interest rates are expected to drive mild upside in Asian markets. The Dow climbed 0.43 percent, the NASDAQ added 0.54 percent and the S&P 500 rose 0.42 percent as of Tuesday.

Shares of Intel provided a boost to markets following news of a significant government grant for the construction of a new chip-making facility in Israel. The markets also benefited from optimism about the outlook for interest rates following last week’s consumer price inflation data. Oil prices surged higher amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and concerns over trade disruptions following attacks on ships. West Texas Intermediate Crude oil futures for February jumped 2.7 percent to close at $75.57 a barrel.
