Australian business leaders are optimistic about the role of AI and data in future growth, but a new study reveals they are not prepared to implement these technologies. Only 34% of businesses have implemented AI, with 45% yet to start. Additionally, 35% lack a data strategy and 27% review their AI strategies quarterly or less. Despite 44% emphasizing the importance of regulatory compliance, only 41% have established ethical protocols for AI. EXL’s Head of APAC, Villas Madan, emphasizes the need for companies to take AI seriously and move beyond pilot projects to scalable solutions.
