Maersk to send almost all ships via Suez, schedule shows By Reuters

Maersk plans to sail most container vessels between Asia and Europe through the Suez Canal instead of going around Africa due to Houthi militant attacks. The decision follows a U.S.-led military operation for protection. While Maersk is resuming routes through Suez, Hapag Lloyd still considers it too dangerous and is diverting ships. Re-routing adds up to $1 million extra in fuel costs per round trip. Maersk’s schedules are subject to change.
