Indian cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX was hacked, resulting in a loss of $44 million. The hackers exploited an internal account used for liquidity provisions through a server breach. Fortunately, no user funds were affected. CoinDCX CEO Sumit Gupta assured that customer funds are safe, and the incident was contained by isolating the affected account.

The attacker’s address received 1 Ether from Tornado Cash and transferred a portion of the stolen funds from Solana to Ethereum. Funds stolen through the hack were traced by onchain sleuth ZachXBT. CoinDCX has not responded to requests for comment. Analyst Infinity Hedge highlighted the anniversary of WazirX’s $235 million hack as a reminder of cybersecurity risks in the crypto industry.

This is a developing story with updates pending. Crypto losses totaled $2.5 billion in the first half of 2025, but hacks decreased in Q2 according to CertiK.
