U.S. trade deficit in goods widens in November for third straight month

The U.S. trade deficit in goods has widened to $90.3 billion in November, an increase of 0.8%. This is higher than the expected deficit of $89.6 billion according to the Commerce Department’s advanced estimate. The report also indicates a 0.2% decline in wholesale inventories and a 0.1% slip in advanced retail inventories. Excluding autos, retail inventories saw a sharp 0.8% decrease.
