The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) gained $1.8 billion, reaching $641.9 billion in assets under management. This increase followed a record close for the S&P 500 and a 0.7% rise in the Nasdaq Composite, driven by positive retail sales data and strong earnings reports.
In the ETF market, iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) attracted $763.9 million, while Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) collected $548.9 million. iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) gained $499.3 million, and iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF (IEFA) saw inflows of $460.8 million.
Conversely, Vanguard Long-Term Corporate Bond ETF (VCLT) experienced outflows of $3.1 billion, Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) lost $1.2 billion, and Vanguard Mid-Cap ETF (VO) had outflows of $770.9 million.
U.S. equity ETFs attracted $313.4 million, while U.S. fixed-income ETFs lost $2.8 billion. Currency ETFs saw inflows of $1.5 billion, but overall ETFs experienced outflows of $555 million as initial jobless claims fell to 221,000.
