Boeing urges inspections of 737 Max planes for ‘possible loose bolt’

From CNBC:

Boeing is asking airlines to inspect their 737 Max planes for a possible loose bolt in the rudder control system. The inspections are recommended after an international operator found a bolt with a missing nut during routine maintenance. The checks will take about two hours per plane. Boeing stated that the issue has been addressed and is urging airlines to inform them of any findings.

Alaska Airlines is planning to start the inspections on Thursday and expects to complete them in the first half of January. The carrier does not anticipate any operational impact as a result of the inspections. Similarly, United Airlines, one of the largest 737 Max customers, does not expect any impact to its operations.
