PepsiCo will introduce Pepsi Prebiotic Cola this fall following its $1.95 billion acquisition of Poppi. The soda giant aims to attract health-conscious consumers amid declining domestic beverage demand. The new drink contains 3g of prebiotic fiber and 5g of cane sugar, a departure from classic Pepsi’s corn syrup sweetener.

Pepsi canceled plans for a functional soda under the Soulboost brand to focus on prebiotic trends. Meanwhile, Coke introduced Simply Pop prebiotic soda and may announce updates on its performance during an upcoming earnings call. Health Secretary Kennedy Jr. criticizes artificial sweeteners, while Trump claims Coca-Cola will switch to cane sugar in its soda.
